Three people shot, one seriously injured at Abbotsford house party

THE Major Crime Unit of Abbotsford Police is investigating violence at a large house party in the 2300-block of Beaver Street on Friday night in which three people sustained gunshot wounds and one person sustained trauma injuries.

At 11:50 p.m., police received a call alerting them to possible shots fired at a house party. They found large groups of people leaving the area and located two injured males suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. The males were transported to hospital by the BC Ambulance Service. Before police turned up, two other victims arrived at the hospital with injuries from this party, one male suffering from apparent gunshot wounds, and the other with blunt force trauma injuries. All four males remained in hospital on Saturday morning.

Police continue to conduct interviews, neighborhood canvasses and search the area to locate any persons or possible vehicles that may have been involved. The motive for this incident is unclear at this time. Forensic identification officers are collecting forensic and video evidence.
