ON January 2, at approximately 6:40 p.m., Surrey RCMP frontline officers responded to multiple 911 calls of shots being fired in the 14000-block of 115A Avenue. Investigators located evidence consistent with shots being fired at a residence.
Witnesses observed a dark-coloured SUV driving away from the area with its headlights off after the shooting. A black Honda CR-V SUV was subsequently located by police in the area and stopped. Three occupants of the Honda were initially arrested. One occupant has since been released while one male in his 40s and one male in his 30s remain in custody while the investigation continues. The Honda has been seized for investigation purposes.
There were no injuries reported and no individuals were inside the residence at the time of the shooting. Investigators believe this to be a targeted occurrence.

This marks Surrey’s first shots fired investigation in 2019. The City experienced 38 shots-fired incidents in 2018, a 36% decrease from 2017 and a 57% reduction since 2015.
