LV Revanth is the winner of Indian Idol 9

Visakhapatnam-based LV Revanth was announced as the winner of Indian Idol Season 9 by none other than the cricketing legend, Sachin Tendulkar. Social media was abuzz over the master blaster’s debut on small screen. While the first runners-up was Khuda Baksh, the second runners-up was PVNS Rohit. The season finale witnessed three contestants – LV Revanth Kumar, Khuda Baksh and PVNS Rohit battle it out to win the title of Indian Idol.

Along with the title, the winner was awarded a prize money of Rs 25 lakh, Mahindra KUV100 and also a singing contract with Sony Music.

While Khuda Baksh hails from Punjab, both LV Revanth and PVNS Rohit belong to the state of Andhra Pradesh. All the three finalists are versatile singers and have won many a hearts with their amazing performances on the show.

The grand finale overall was a fun-filled affair with Sunil Grover making a comeback on TV as Dr. Mashoor Gulati and Rinku Bhabhi.

Born in 1990, Revanth’s full name is Lolla Venkata Revanth Kumar Sharma. Revanth studied in in Srikakulam and Visakhapatnam before moving to Hyderabad to pursue a career in playback singing. Having sung in nearly 200 Telugu and Kannada films, Revanth was a known name down south when he participated in Indian Idol.

The singer, who rose to popularity after singing Manohari in Baahubali: The Beginning, now wants to learn Hindi and pursue a career in Bollywood.
