MANJIT Kaur Deo, 53, the mother of 21-year-old Harjot Singh who has been charged with second-degree murder in the homicide of Bhavkiran Dhesi, has been charged with being an accessory after the fact to murder in the case.
The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) made the announcement on Tuesday and announced that the “investigation is still not over” and asked anyone who has any information on the case to contact them.
Harjot Deo was arrested on May 10 at Vancouver International Airport by IHIT. Bhavkiran Dhesi’s body was found inside a burnt vehicle at around 12:20 a.m. on August 2, 2017, in the 18700-block of 24th Avenue in Surrey.
Harjot Deo, who make his next court appearance on May 27, had been in a romantic relationship with Dhesi and had become known to IHIT investigators fairly early in the investigation.
