Dharmendra’s first marriage was in 1954 at the age of 19 to Prakash Kaur – the couple have two sons, Sunny Deol and Bobby Deol, and two daughters, Vijeeta and Ajeeta. His second marriage to Bollywood dream girl Hema Malini led the couple to convert to Islam as Dharmendra did not divorce his first wife. The still madly in love couple have two daughters, Esha and Ahana Deol.

1Shabana Azmi & Javed Akhtar

Lyricist Javed Akhtar was married to Honey Irani and father two children with her, before he left his wife for Shabana Azmi. Javed divorced Irani, allegedly due to his relationship with Shabana Azmi, the daughter of an Urdu poet and his second wife.

The third time is a charm for Bollywood bad boy Sanjay Dutt. In 1987, Dutt married actress Richa Sharma, who he lost to a brain tumour. Dutt’s second marriage was 1 years later to model Rhea Pillai but the couple divorced in 2005. In 2008 Dutt married Dilnawaz Sheikh, also known as Manyata. Sanjay Dutt became the father to twins in 2010, and has an estranged daughter from his marriage with Richa Sharma.

It was a love story with a sad ending. After divorcing Nadira Zaheer, the daughter of a noted theatre personality and mother of two of his children, Raj Babbar who married actress Smita Patil, who died immediately after giving birth to their son, Prateik.

Boney Kapoor divorced his first wife Mona Shourie Kapoor, with whom he has two children, to marry Sridevi. The couple has two daughters, Jahanvi and Khushi. Jahanvi was born out of wedlock when Boney was still legally married to his first wife.
