Birinderjeet Justin Bhangu killed in targeted shooting in broad daylight in Guildford, Surrey

BIRINDERJEET Justin Bhangu, 29, of Surrey who was shot dead on Monday (March 13) just before 2:30 p.m. in the parking lot of Surrey’sCOMFORT INN HOTEL in the 8200-block of 166th Street, was known to police.

Evidence collected by police suggests this was a targeted homicide.  Police said that a dark coloured Nissan Pathfinder fled the crime scene. The vehicle has not yet been recovered by police.

Cpl. Cpl. Meghan Foster of the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team said on Tuesday: “Anyone who may have information about Mr. Bhangu’s murder is asked to contact police. This blatant act of violence was committed in a busy area of the community, and fortunately no one else was hurt.”

Bhangu was located by Surrey RCMP in a parked vehicle suffering from gunshot wounds.  He was transported to hospital for treatment, but succumbed to his injuries.

The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) took conduct of the case and is working in partnership with the Surrey RCMP and the BC Coroner’s Service. From the evidence gathered so far, the homicide appears to be targeted.
