ON Monday, November 12 at 3:30 p.m., Abbotsford emergency services were called to the intersection of Simpson Road and Ross Road for reports of a shooting.
Abbotsford Police Department’s patrol division officers located an injured male suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. The male victim, a 19-year-old Abbotsford resident, was transported to hospital by air ambulance. The victim succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead shortly after.
(The victim was South Asian and was apparently shot in the head.)
The Abbotsford Police Department Major Crime Unit, Patrol Division, Gang Crime Unit, and Forensic Identification Unit remain on scene collecting evidence and speaking to witnesses. This investigation will be transitioning over to the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT).
